My academic background is in Civil Engineering, where I hold a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal and worked as a researcher in the high-speed railway research group from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal focusing on applied computational mechanics and structural optimization.
I pivoted to software development in 2018, which allowed me to work in a research project for the European Space Agency within the field of Earth Observation.
I then transitioned to a Software Developer Engineer role in Amazon's Books organization, in projects such as Kindle for PC/Mac and Kindle Cloud Reader/Kindle for Web.
I currently work as a Software Engineer at Garmin, in projects related to the Tacx Training app.
